Born in St. Petersburg and raised in Seminole, Alan is an actor, director, and set designer. He studied Theatre at Florida Southern College and Greensboro College. His first production with us was in 2022 with Breadcrumbs, which he directed for Circle in the Water Productions, which originated at Jobsite Theatre’s JobSide before transferring to The Off-Central. Since then, he has been instrumental in crafting many of our productions as a director (A Number, No Exit, Blackbird, Two Across), set designer (Lovebird, Morning After Grace, Who’s Holiday, The Sound Inside, 1959 Pink Thunderbird, Native Gardens…) and as an actor (The Hollow, Fully Committed, Something Clean). His work, both on and off stage has been seen across the Tampa Bay Area, including American Stage, Tampa Repertory Theatre, Stage Works, freeFall Theatre Company, The Studio@620, and Early Bird Dinner Theater. Alan is no stranger to local not-for-profit organizations. He has served on the board of directors for several Tampa Bay Area organizations including Eight O’clock Theatre, West Florida Ballet, and West Coast Players where he served as Board Chairperson and production manager. Most recently he was the Adventure and Community Outreach Coordinator for Voices of Hope for Aphasia here in St. Petersburg.

“Here at the Off-Central, we are uniquely positioned to offer St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay Area a theatrical experience that can’t be found anywhere else. Our intimate 43-seat space creates an engaging environment that immerses our audience in the storytelling. My aim to build on the great strides we’ve made over the last 3 seasons to make The Off-Central a destination for audiences and artists alike.”
