I'm Ward Smith, your friendly neighborhood Producing Artistic Director of the Off-Central Players, nestled in the heart of the ever-sunny 

St. Petersburg, Florida. 

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you mix a splash of culture, a dollop of humor, and a generous helping of the human condition, then you’re in for a treat! Imagine the theater as a grand(central) buffet of life’s most delectable stories—each performance a gourmet dish. My role? I’m the head chef, sous-chef, and occasionally the guy who accidentally sets off the smoke alarm. But hey, that’s all part of the charm!

At Off-Central Players, we believe in the magic of storytelling—a magic that doesn’t require a wand or a rabbit in a hat, just a stage, some passionate actors, and an audience ready to be whisked away on a journey of emotions. Our productions are like a rollercoaster ride through human experience, complete with laughter, tears, and maybe the occasional scream (of delight, we hope!).

The Off-Central is an intimate theater, gallery, and performance venue in the heart of  St. Petersburg's vibrant Grand Central District. 

Located at 2260 1st Avenue South, the main entrance on 23rd Street.

Doors are closed immediately at the start of performances, so please prepare to arrive early to allocate for time to park and being situated within the theater.
