Improvisation can help sharpen so many skills needed for the stage and in life. Even more exciting: It’s great fun and requires little or no outside preparation! Each class will feature new improvisation exercises with specific points of focus including creating the Who, What and Where; Verbal and Emotional Agility, Spontaneity, Cooperation, and Instant Story Telling.

Though my degree is in Theatre Arts, it was not until I lived in New York City and became friends with the troupe at Chicago City Limits (founded in 1977 and still going strong) that I became immersed in improvisation. I have been teaching improv for nearly 30 years. Improvisation can seem daunting, yet once you learn, employ and master the basic rules and guidelines, anyone can become an excellent improvisor.

This workshop is valuable not just to actors, but to anyone who wants to learn how to be more spontaneous and confident when talking extemporaneously in front of an audience.
